Awesome Pet Products That We Love-And You Will Too!

Our pets aren’t just our companions- they are a huge part of our families.

They drive us crazy and keep us sane, all at the same time.

They teach us about love and laughter and the simple joys of life.

We want to take care of them. We want to give them health, comfort, and fun. We want to spoil them.

I have taken a look around my own house for things that we use every day for our pets to make their lives better(and ours too). So, what products would I recommend to you? Let’s talk about it…

Pet Fountain

Hunter’s pet fountain

This little fountain has done wonders for Hunter’s hydration and sometimes he’ll just sit and watch it for entertainment value.

Okay, this is one of those game-changing products for my cat, Hunter.

Hunter is a cat who never seemed to drink enough water. He never has figured out the technique of drinking properly out of a water bowl. When he tries to drink out of a bowl, he ends up snorting it up his nose and sneezes.

His particular preference is a running tap. But, since we can’t exactly give him a running tap all day, I was worried that he was getting dehydrated.

Cats, in general, prefer moving water over still water for their drinking source. My mom purchased a fountain for her cat and recommended it to me after success with her own kitty. My hubby bought it for Hunter and it has made a big difference in his water consumption.

If you’re worried your cats aren’t drinking enough, try a pet fountain! This one is easy to use, easy to clean, ultra-quiet, the filters are fairly inexpensive and you can use it as a tap fountain or a bubble fountain if that’s your cat’s preference.

Furbo Pet Camera

pet camera for monitoring pets alone at home

Furbo Pet Camera

Check in on your pets, look all around, zoom in, say hello to your pets, and toss them a treat or two. This pet camera has given us peace of mind when we can’t be there to keep an eye on our them.

Gone are the days of worrying about my pets when I have to be away from them. I wish I could spend all day at home but hubby and I both have jobs with varying hours so we can’t always be there.

It’s so nice to check in and see how they’re doing. I can rotate the camera to find them in the room, zoom in to see what they’re up to, talk to them through the camera, and even toss a treat, all from my smartphone.

I absolutely love our Furbo pet camera!

Lucy loves the magical treats that appear out of thin air.

It’s a win-win!

Self-Warming Bed

fuzzy warm cushioned mat for cats

Self-Warming Cat Beds

This simple little pad is a cozy little nest for my cat that heats him with the heat from his own body reflecting back to him.

Cat parents know that nothing looks more comfortable than a cat curled up in warm patch of sunshine.

What if you could give your cat that warm patch anywhere in your house?

While my cat absolutely loves the warmth of my lap, or a sunny patch of carpet, he absolutely adores his self-warming cat bed.

It’s a thick, comfy pad with a furry top and fleecy underside that can be flipped for your cat or small dog’s preference. No electricity needed…just the warmth of your pet’s own body to reflect back and keep them cozy.

Some of these pads have a crinkly layer that can scare away a timid pet but this one has a noiseless, heat-reflecting mylar film layer inside.

Oh, and did I mention that it’s machine washable?

Kong Classic Dog Toy

two red rubber chew toys known for durability

Kong Classic Dog Toy

This toy is a treat dispenser and chew toy all in one. Rugged, safe, easy to fill and clean, and available in many different sizes and chew strengths.

Okay, this a classic for a reason. We have used Kong Classics for many years and they’re absolutely essential.

They’re durable, easy to clean, and great for chewers. Chewing is so important for dogs for such things as dental care, stress reduction, puppy teething, and mental stimulation.

They come in several sizes and strengths for everything from puppies to power chewers.

They can be stuffed full of so many treats and snacks for your dogs. We use layers of different treats such as peanut butter, liver treats, kibble, yogurt, blueberries, wet food, and green beans. The whole thing gets popped in the freezer to make it last even longer.

This is an awesome way to keep your dog occupied in their crate, in your backyard, or on their favourite pet bed. Kongs are hard enough to allow your dog a good chew without destroying it, and soft enough that they won’t break your dog’s teeth.

FURminator De-shedding Tool

de-shedding tool used to remove loose hair and undercoat from double coated pets

The FURminator

This de-shedding tool saves us in shedding season. If you have a pet with a double coat, I highly recommend this tool.

When shedding season hits in the spring and autumn, this tool becomes a lifesaver in our house.

With her thick undercoat, Lucy the Lab becomes a shedding machine. The only hope we have is consistent brushing and a great de-shedding tool.

The FURminator is easy to use, reaching through the topcoat to remove the loose hair and undercoat without damaging the topcoat or skin.

It has a skin guard to prevent digging in at the edges. And, once it fills up with hair, you press the FURejector button and your tool is clean and ready for more.

If you’ve got a dog or cat with an undercoat, this an excellent tool to keep shedding under control.

Sounds like a plan, right?

Whisker Friendly Bowls

three white shallow bowls with black stick drawing of fish bones used for cat bowls

Whisker Friendly Bowls

Meal time has become much cleaner and Hunter is eating better, just with the addition of these whisker-friendly bowls.

I have recently learned of the concept of whisker fatigue in cats. If you notice your cat is making messes with their food, pulling food out of their bowl to eat on the floor, is picky about food, or even demanding hand feeding, whisker fatigue may be to blame.

Think of your cat’s whiskers as antennae. They are sensitive and information-gathering, sending signals to your cat’s brain about their environment. If they become over-stimulated, and they might by putting their face into a deep bowl, your cat may feel uncomfortable with eating from that bowl.

Enter, the whisker-friendly bowl. Really, they’re more like a dessert-sized plate with a raised edge. The best ones are ceramic or stainless steel for sanitation.

This has made a huge difference with Hunter’s cleanliness around feeding time and the amount that he’s eating. No more flinging bits of food on the wall and floor. Ever since his dental surgery, which coincided with getting larger amounts of canned food in his diet, he’s been a messy eater. But no more!

Kong Wobbler

A red treat-dispensing tool with a few pieces of kibble falling out

The Kong Wobbler

This treat-dispensing toy weeble-wobbles but it won’t fall down. This will keep your dog entertained for ages with just a few treats or pieces of kibble.

The Kong Wobbler is our most used toy in our house. We use it daily and Lucy never tires of it.

The Wobbler holds kibble or other small treats. Your dog has to knock it on its side with their paw or nose to get a piece or two to spill out and then the Wobbler stands back upright.

When we’re heading out for work, this is Lucy’s distraction toy. She will happily focus on emptying its contents and ignoring our departure completely and then settle down for a nap for the day. It’s perfection.

FURemover Broom

Dog lying on small rug with a rubber broom and a pile of fur

FURemover Broom

Even after a thorough vacuuming, this rubber broom can pull up a big pile of fur from this small rug.

This rubber broom is another one of those indispensable tools, especially during shedding season.

It can be used on tile, hardwood, and other smooth floors. But the real magic in our house happens on our carpets. The FURemover broom pulls hair out of rugs like magic. Even when you’ve vacuumed already, the FURemover will shock you with the amount of fur it will pull out of your rugs.

Robot Vacuum

Lefant M210P Robot Vacuum

It’s quiet, powerful, and picks up all that fur and litter bits with no effort on my part. With its low profile, it even crawls under some furniture that I really don’t want to move(e.g. the treadmill).

Now, this, by far, is my favourite product.

And, yes, I consider it a pet product…absolutely, I do.

This is “TED”(the extractor device), better known to the rest of the world as the Lefant M210P Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner.

This little puppy wanders around my house, sucking up pet hair, bits of litter, and tracked-in dirt. I can sit, working on my blog (or watching TV and eating chips) while TED works his magic. LOVE IT!!

It does a great job and it’s quiet while it works. Even Hunter, who is terrified of the regular vacuum, will let this little guy wander past him. He is more curious than fearful. I love that too!
